Day 4 - Cont.

She is officially ours now. We were bussed to the Registration office and up to the 26th floor where did our interview and exchanged money to pay the balance of our orphanage fee. From there we went to the notary and had another interview and answered questions. From there we went to the Wal-Mart which has everything you could need. After there we back to the hotel to get some lunch and at 3:30 we are off to the security office for a picture they require. Once that is done I believe we are only waiting for the babies passport which are due on Friday.

Nanchang is just like others have described--hot and humid. I have only seen 3 or 4 smoking business men or other individuals. The A/C in most places doesn't appear to work as well in the west. Since our little one is not use to A/C this is probably a good thing and she will hopefully not get sick.

I have nothing but praise for our agency. We have been well taken care of and handled from the moment we stepped off the plane to each of our appointments. They are very knowledgeable about the areas in which we have traveled. We each got to ask questions of the orphanage director and we were provided with our child's finding ad. For those babies that had notes attached when abandoned, they were able to take photos of the note. Our little girl did not have a note attached but we did find out where she was abandoned.

  2. Oh, I am SO happy for you guys!!!! Your daughter is such a sweetie pie! I love the picture where she is reaching for your mouth! So sweet. That's a good thing too for bonding when they reach for your face! We also stayed at the Jin Feng and we met out daughter in the play room/family center on the 10th or 11th floor (can't remember.) There is a great place to get your laundry done in the neighborhood. If you go out the front door and walk left down the busy street, it will be on the right side of the road, so you don't have to cross that crazy street. It is just past a bank. It will be a 5 - 10 minute walk. They ironed everything and packaged everything. It felt like we had new clothes. Their rates were reasonable too. The laundry there was MUCH better than in Guangzhou, so if you can, try and get all your laundry done before you head to GZ. I am just so happy for you guys and wish I was there to relive the whole magical experience. :-)

  4. Congrads to your latest family addition. I am so happy and excited for both you and Paul. I cannot wait to see Madison and Grace together. God is great and knows all, and he knew Grace was meant to be a part of your family. The look of love in your eyes and the content on your face as little Grace reaches to feed her Dad her finger is PRICELESS! I will make room on my desk to accomodate the new pictures that I will be receiving of Madison and Grace. Have a wonderful and safe trip home. Michelle
